Instrumentation Cables Suppliers, UAE
Instrumentation cables carry low-level analogue and digital signals between field instruments (transmitters, sensors, analyzers) and control system marshalling cabinets, requiring superior shielding against electromagnetic interference. They are essential in every GCC process plant where hundreds or thousands of measurement points feed into DCS and PLC systems. Procurement teams must specify correct pair/triad configurations, shield types, and fire performance ratings to ensure signal integrity.

Instrumentation cables connect field-mounted sensors, transmitters, and analyzers to the distributed control system (DCS) or programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in process plants across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. These cables carry milliamp and millivolt signals that demand excellent noise immunity to maintain measurement accuracy.
Standard instrumentation cables are constructed as twisted pairs or triads (for grounded thermocouple circuits) with individual and overall aluminium-polyester foil shields and drain wires. Conductor sizes of 0.5 mm2, 0.75 mm2, or 1.5 mm2 are common, with pair counts ranging from 1 to 24 pairs per cable. For HART-enabled 4-20 mA instrument loops prevalent in GCC plants, shielded twisted pair cables with characteristic impedance suitable for HART communication frequency (1,200 Hz) must be specified.
Fire performance is critical: most ADNOC and Saudi Aramco specifications require instrumentation cables to meet IEC 60332-3 flame retardancy, and critical safety instrumented system (SIS) circuits often mandate fire-resistant cables per IEC 60331 to maintain signal integrity during a fire event for at least 30 minutes.
When procuring instrumentation cables for GCC projects, specify overall cable diameter tolerance carefully, as cable glands and conduit entries must be sized accordingly. Order 10 to 15 percent extra length to account for field routing adjustments common in plant construction. Verify that the cable manufacturer provides individual pair identification markings (numbered or colour-coded) consistent with the project wiring schedule to reduce installation errors and commissioning time.
